The School Day and Prospectus

KMPS School Prospectus 2024-2025

Our school day begins in the classroom at 8:45am and finishes at 3:15pm.  This equates to a total of 32.5 hours in school each week at the current time.  The school day works as follows:

8:30                            School opens - children welcome to go in to classes or on to                                       the playground

8:45                            Children make their way to classes, registration opens

8:55                            Registration closes, morning sessions begin

10:30                           Breaktime

10:45                           Children return to classes

12:00                           Lunchtime begins

1:00                             Lunchtime ends, afternoon registration

1:05                             Assembly

1:20                             Assembly finishes, afternoon sessions begin

3:15                             School finishes

The school opens at 8:30am and children are welcome to enter classrooms themselves or go on to the bottom playground which is staffed from 8:30am. Every Friday morning, Wake and Shake takes place on the bottom playground.

Children come in to the dinner hall a class at a time at lunchtime and are free to play outside once they have finished eating.

Either just before or following break time, the children in Early Years, Year 1 and 2 have a healthy snack provided by the school.  All other classes have a time to eat their healthy snack, if one is sent, either just before, or just after break time.
